Latest News – Cheshire East By-Election in Crewe East, Save Our Buses Campaign

Cheshire East Council By-Election – Crewe East Ward

With the retirement of David Newton from Cheshire East Council a by-election has been called in the ward of his seat, Crewe East. Our candidate is local activist Joy Bratherton. We have been campaigning relentlessly around the ward, out everyday, and we also got a hand from our MP Laura Smith. So far we are seeing great responses and very hopeful of increasing our vote share in the ward. We would like to give a huge huge thanks to Joy’s agent and CLP Secretary Mick Roberts whose hard work has already taken us a good way through the ward’s streets. The election date is 5th October.

Save Our Buses – Crewe Town Centre Street Stall

On Saturday 2nd September we held a hugely successful street stall to aid the Save Our Buses campaign led in Crewe by Carol Jones. We had experts on hand to give out information on what buses were being cut as well as a petition which will be presented to Cheshire East Council in October. The proposal to cut many bus services have worried many as many residents rely on them. The worse cuts are services to Leighton Hospital in the evenings affecting those wishing to visit family and friends during visitor hours.
